Nursery - Sunshine Room

In Sunshine Room, we take children from 4 months up until just after their 2nd birthday.  Every child has a Key Worker who will support both the child and their family throughout their time with us.

We work to provide a safe, happy and stimulating environment where children can grow, learn and achieve.

We have lots of space including a baby safe area.  In our carpeted room, we provide a variety of activities to enhance children’s learning through books, puzzles, construction and small world materials.  In the wet room we provide a range of imaginative and messy play where our children can explore paint, sensory materials and sand to name just a few.

Our two outdoor areas provide two different experiences – one grass and the other covered in an all weather safety surface.

All children have a ‘My Day’ form which is completed and shared with parents daily and a ‘Learning Journey’ which both staff and parents contribute towards to show their children’s learning.

Key Times of the Day

• Breakfast Time: Children choose from a variety of cereals and toast which they eat with their friends.

• Hello Song & Singing: After singing hello to everyone we share songs with the aid of props.

• Adult Focus: This is an adult led activity based on the children’s interests to extend their learning.

• Snack & Milk: Children usually have fruit and milk in small groups with their Key Worker.

• Free Flow: Children can choose to play inside and outdoors and changes are made to the environment to stimulate children’s interests
